When Governor Murphy issues an executive order permitting the re-opening of various ...

Stations of the Cross now available online here

Over the years, many of you have made the Stations of the Cross a personal Lenten devotion.  As I have led the stations over these past few years, I have gained a deeper appreciation of the stations and their role in helping us to enter more deeply into the mystery of the Passion and Death ...

Welcome Visitors

DUE TO COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS VISITS TO THE CHURCH ARE LIMITED (See Above).

Whether you are visiting for just a few days or considering us as your new church family you are most welcome at our parish. We’re located just off the Garden State Parkway exits 29 and 30 and just inland from Ocean City, NJ.

St. Joseph Regional School is a Pre-K Age 3 and Age 4 to Grade 8 school and is a great place to get a solid education and build Christian character.

St. Joseph’s mission is threefold – just like the Apostles – to love God, love others, and make disciples.

  • We love God through prayer and the sacraments.
  • We love Others through acceptance, support, and social justice programs.
  • We make Disciples by word and example.

Children are welcome at all of our masses and there is a “crying room” to the left as you enter the front door for emergencies. Families with small children should consider attending our Sunday 10AM mass commonly referred to as the children’s mass. On the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sundays at this mass they can attend our Children’s liturgy of the word. All of our Children’s Liturgy faculty are safe-environment trained.

Connecting with Christ and His Church

Receiving Forgiveness

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a unique and beautiful gift of Jesus Christ, who in His abundant love and mercy, forgives us and reconciles us with God and His Church. The sacrament mends our broken or damaged relationship with God the Father.

Even if you have been away from the sacrament for many years, Jesus desires only to welcome you back into his loving arms.

“Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.’ And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained’” (John 20:21-23).

Growing Deeper in Following Christ

In response to our recent parish mission St. Joseph’s is making available a new small group program called Discipleship Quads. A Discipleship Quad is a group of four men or four women who meet weekly to learn and share.

The program is provided free of charge by the Franciscan University of Steubenville, OH and printed materials may be obtained free of charge in the parish office or by contacting deacon Bob Oliver by email or phone at 609-334-6644.

Learning the Faith for All Ages

Welcome to our family of faith. Our office seeks to help our children and their families discover God’s love for them through the knowledge of the life and love of Jesus Christ, through the witness of our catechists and aides, and the classroom activities that are planned for them.

We offer a variety of programs allowing for some flexibility in how your child is educated: a Monday night weekly program, a two-week summer program, and a catch-up program for older children who have had little or no religious education.

Our Parish Bible Study

THE PASSION AND RESURRECTION NARRATIVES OF JESUS

The Passion and Resurrection is the core of the Scriptures and the heart of our faith, liturgy and prayer. Join us in exploring the four Bible narratives, and the differences and reasons behind those differences, as we look to the crucified and Risen Jesus as the source of life.

Thursday evenings at 7PM in the church hall. Seven weeks Feb. 20 & 27, Mar. 5, 12, 19 & 26, Apr. 2 – please register at the parish office!. Books are available at the parish office prior to Feb. 20th at a cost of $16.
