Mass to Restart June 13th&14th

All parishioners should have received a letter describing our reopening procedures.

Based on directives received from the Diocese of Camden, we will be resuming masses the weekend of June 13/14, five Masses per weekend will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church – two Masses on Saturday – 4:30 pm and a Spanish Mass at 7 pm, and Sundays at 8 AM, 10 AM and 12 Noon (No 5 pm Mass at this time).

The dispensation for Catholics to participate at Mass on Sundays and holy days remains in effect. No one is obliged to come to Mass; you may continue to watch Mass on television or online. We will continue to provide a live broadcast of 10 am Mass which will be available to watch on our Facebook page, St. Joseph Catholic Church – Somers Point, and our parish website, www.stjosephsomerspoint.org. Those who are especially at risk or who live with loved ones who are at risk, may be at peace remaining at home. Families with small children (who may find it difficult to maintain a 6-foot distance from others), are encouraged to participate at Mass in the comfort of your home. The Cry Room is not allowed to be open in any church. These are just temporary measures. We truly can’t wait for the day when we can worship our Lord together, as a parish family.

Reservations for Mass

We have created a reservation system to spread out attendance over multiple Masses, and to be sure that social distancing occurs.
We ask that you please call Jackie or Colleen at the parish office at a special number set up for mass reservations – 609-927-3568, ext. 25.
Please call on Tuesday or Wednesday of each week, between 9 am and 3 pm.
We will take reservations based on the capacity allowed by the state, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Fr. Jaromir asks that you be seated in church 10 minutes before Mass begins.
There will be a Welcoming Table in the front of church by the Shore Road entrance.  We will have a reservation card for you at the table, letting you know which pew you are in.
A member of our Care Team will guide you to your reserved seat.
The first pew on both sides will be reserved for handicapped seating.
If a family has to be turned away due to full capacity, Jackie or Colleen will take your reservation for the next week’s Mass.
We hope this system will work, but we will make changes if needed.
